Christian Johnston is a Virginia-based photographer with 22 years of experience capturing stunning images for a diverse range of clients, from private individuals to corporations and publications. Driven by a passion for creating beautiful visuals, Christian brings a unique artistic vision to every project. Christian Johnston worked for Viacom's MTV and VH1 in various capacities in television and film production as well as animation before turning his sights to photography in 2003. Born in NYC and raised in Virginia he returned to his birthplace in 1989 and has come full circle after 28+ returning to Virginia. He started his career in photography in 2003 where he worked predominately as a contributing photographer for the New York Post where he photographed feature stories. His work is syndicated through Splash and Polaris agencies. He has had many clients outside of the New York Post from magazines to private clients. He received a grant from the BAC (Brooklyn Arts Council) and sponsorship from NYFA (New York Foundation for the Arts) for his project The Fisherman of Sheepshead Bay. He has exhibited his personal work in galleries in NYC and Virginia. He has been a guest speaker at The New School in NYC and Crossing the Lines in Brooklyn.

The love for videography and photography started back in my skateboarding days in the mid 2010s. It was always fun to document all the fun we had and make ourselves look way cooler than we actually were through editing instead of studying for actual school. It wasn’t until I was offered 150 bucks to edit a ballet recital that it hit me, I can do this forever AND make a living off doing it! I graduated from George Mason University in 2014 with a Bachelors degree in Art and Visual Technology with a minor in business. I work full time at a company as a multimedia producer doing everything from graphic creation, video editing, event photography, podcast editing and on and on and on. Photo and video is what I love to do. I do it for work, I do it for fun, I do it …for me. Making people look awesome is what I love doing.
