I try to be fair in my pricing and not over complicate by charging for each item of a shoot. My goal is to provide high quality professional photography for a reasonable price so that young professionals and small businesses can afford to have the best in headshots and commercial photography.

The first step is to listen to the client's requirements and vision for the photo session. I will then offer suggestions and together agree on the details of the shoot - location(s), settings, clothing and pricing. Then a confirming proposal is sent and when approved the shoot is booked. During the photo session the client is able to view the photos on my laptop and select and approve the photos. The fully edited photos are uploaded to a personalized online gallery for the client to download. I encourage the client to make suggestions for the edit of photos and will make changes and upload to the gallery. My goal is to provide the best experience and highest quality photos possible.

I started out with a 35mm film SLR camera which I purchased when I visited the Baha'i world center in Haifa Israel. I found that I had a knack for photography and have been a serious hobbyist for years. Five years ago I decided to change careers to become a full time photographer and prepared for three years - attending NY Institute of Photography and working pro bono to sharpen my skills. I founded TrueLens Photo in 2020 and haven't looked back!

Headshots - I work with individuals of various professions - IT, doctors, entrepreneurs, actors. My clients' ages range from college graduate to retired people. I am especially glad that my clients reflect the great diversity of race and ethnicity of humankind. Commercial - my clients range from solopreneurs, start up companies to the largest corporations (including UPS and Merrill Lynch)

Recently I had the privilege to do a photo shoot for a Wealth Management group of Merrill Lynch. The session included a group photo taken on a balcony overlooking the hills of Portland. Two studio lights were used to provide sufficient lighting without shadows and allow for good exposure of the background. This was followed by headshots for seven of the team members in a conference room with my pop up background and studio lighting.

Make sure that the photographers focus matches the type of photos you need. There are many specialties in photography and to be an expert in a specialty requires the photographer to focus. Look at the website portfolio of the photographer to make sure you are working with someone who has the specialty you need.

Ask the photographer to describe the project from beginning to end. If it is not clearly described then it is likely that the project won't be smooth. Also see how well the photographer listens and responds to your needs.
