Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We price by the volume that your items fill in our 16 cubic yard dump truck (as professional haulers, we do not use pickup trucks!). Our minimum is $139 and we have 9 total price increments up to $800 per full truck. One of our green guarantees is price assurance. This means you will never pay more than your on-site proposal unless you add items to the job afterward. You may even pay less if your items take up less space than what we estimated!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Your appointment is booked for a 2 hour window for a free, no obligation estimate. We will send 2 luggers to the job. If you agree to the estimate, we do the job right then and there!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
All of our team goes through lugger training as well as customer service training when onboarded. We have quarterly trainings with our team and monthly team breakfasts to recap the previous month. Our crew is all fully insured and background checked.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
We are family owned and operated. We opened The Junkluggers of Willamette Valley when we decided we wanted to do something for ourselves and for our community. We want to be a force of good! We feel it's a fulfilling day's work when we can put a smile on our customers face by doing what we do!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
We do both residential and commercial work. People from all walks of life. College students, first-time home buyers/sellers, families downsizing, seniors moving into senior living, families who have lost a loved one, and more. We are LGBTQIA+ friendly! We do removals for offices and business of all sizes.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently did a 16 truck job helping a call center that closed after Covid. We were really able to show our customer how we shine by rehoming as much as possible. We only had top dispose of about 2 truckloads, and we went out of our way rehoming as much as possible. The business needed it done in 1 week with short notice, and our crew made it happen!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always get a proposal in writing! In service-based business, it's easy for a company to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door - just to turn around and hike up the pricing after doing the work. With our price assurance guarantee, you will never pay more than your on-site proposal we provide PRIOR to doing the work - unless you add more items to the job afterward. You may even pay less if your items take up less space than what we estimated.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
1. Am I given an estimate in person to ensure an accurate proposal? 2. Do I have pricing in writing? 3. Where are these items going when they leave my property? 4. How hard does the professional work at finding a place for my items before taking everything to the landfill (if they claim to donate & recycle)? 5. Is the team background checked and insured in case of any accidents? 6. Does the business have a reputable presence online (Google reviews)?
