How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started my journey in corporate accounting, where I gained a strong foundation in financial management and reporting. But it was through working with family-owned businesses that I saw firsthand how many small businesses struggle without accurate financials. I realized that finances are the backbone of any successful business—you need to understand where your money is going, how much you’re really making, and whether you’re unknowingly losing profit. Clean, accurate books don’t just keep you tax-ready—they give you the insight needed to make smarter business decisions. Now, I’m passionate about helping small business owners take control of their finances, so they can stop guessing and start strategizing. My goal is to make sure your books are in order, so you can focus on what you do best: running and growing your business.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have extensive experience working with service-based businesses, helping them get organized and stay tax-ready. My support has saved them countless hours—time they’ve been able to reinvest into growing their business or spending more time with their families. Industries I’ve worked with include: • Junk Removal • Roofing, Siding & Gutters • Painting & Drywall • Residential & Commercial Cleaning

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently worked with a painting and drywall company that handed me a year’s worth of receipts—literally in a shoebox. Their books for all of 2024 hadn’t been touched, and they had no system in place for tracking income or expenses. Over the course of several days, I cleaned up and organized their financial records for the entire year. I then set them up in QuickBooks, implemented a digital receipt capture system, and trained them to start tagging receipts with customer names. This change gave us valuable insights into project-level profitability and helped improve their job estimating. I also identified a common issue: they were frequently withdrawing cash from the business account without saving receipts—resulting in lost deductions at tax time. I worked with them to start documenting all cash purchases so we could accurately track spending and maximize their write-offs. Additionally, they weren’t making their required quarterly estimated tax payments, simply because they didn’t know about them. I helped them get on track with the IRS and avoid penalties moving forward. This project took a few days of focused work, but the impact was long-lasting—clean books, better visibility into their business, and peace of mind going into tax season.
