Dogs are fun, inspiring and useful. When we see the world through our dogs eyes, we can set them up for success. At Mindful Dog Training each dog is treated as an individual, and evaluated in their home environment. This gives me a good idea where we are starting from and likely course of action to proceed productively. Your dogs behavior is influenced by everything in their life. So I take an all inclusive approach to the dog experience. Leadership is very important, after that consider what your dogs needs are and how those fit into your life. Dog stuff is usually fun and interesting, even if it’s not what we normally do. It’s so neat to see their face light up when they love the new game or activity. Every interaction “trains” your dog. Your always shaping the way your dog sees you, and their world. By changing little things, always making things a little better, things are good. If you would like a small behavior adjustment or have a serious issue, I am glad to help.
Puppy Training for me is more than “sit, stay, come”. By understanding your dogs breed (common characteristics and activity that runs in the family), age tendencies (puppies change by the month), and who YOUR puppy is, we can set up a routine that fits you and your dog. Gear to achieving the progress you need as your dog grows. A few lessons Before a group puppy class can make that class much more fun and productive. Socialization is important, and a well behaved puppy meets & greets people (and other dogs), in a way that promotes even more socialization. We will cover how to socialize And also how to excuse ourselves from socialization. Your dog is “your dog”, you set the boundaries.
Whatever your needs, happy to help, personally, or by connecting you to appropriate other dog professionals.
Thanks for being a friend and leader for your dog,
