Introduction

Greetings South Valley and beyond! My name is John and I am the owner of SquaredbyDesign LLC. I am a licensed residential contractor as well as a licensed electrician. I have over 15 years experience as a licensed electrician and have been involved in constructing large scale residential, commercial, and industrial building projects.I also have extensive experience remodeling and servicing hospitals, universities, government facilities, as well as private estates. I am familiar with all aspects of the trade. Including, but not limited to: residential, commercial and industrial construction. I am also an experienced builder and can assist in home remodels, renovations and repairs. I offer the community affordable rates and can assure customers that I will dedicate myself to their project regardless of whether it is a large remodel or a small service call. I can say with surity that I will be able to get started on any projects that you might need help with in a timely fashion. SquaredbyDesign LLC also offers the community handyman services, but are limited to availability unless it is an emergency. I am also excited to offer our newest service; hardscaping. We have an experienced Landscape/Hardscape professional on our team who takes great satisfaction in transforming your current yard into a pleasant and inviting area where families can gather to enjoy quality time together. We are based out of Eugene, but extend our services to Albany/Corvallis/Lebanon area and under certain circumstances will travel to Florence/Salem/Portland/Roseburg area. We strive to maintain a code of excellence in work ethic and customer relations. We guarantee all installations to be done with precision and craftsmanship. We have an extensive portfolio as well as a long list of references from the community. Feel free to reach out and we can discuss the details of your home improvement or renovation project. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to working with you!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer excellent rates, whether it is a service call, Time and Material, or a bid project, I take pride in offering affordable pricing.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Depending on the size and scope of project. I sometimes will meet with a potential customer a few times so that we can familiarize ourselves somewhat before entering into an agreed contract. Other times, such as service calls, it's as simple as speaking on the phone once or twice before scheduling in that customers need.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am a High school graduate, I also have attended 2 years secondary schooling at Portland Community College. I completed a 4 year electrical apprenticeship program. I have also completed 950 hours specifically in electrical technologies.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I have been in the Electrical Trades for almost 15 years and approaching 20 years with the building trades. My father is a contractor and I followed that lead.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work with any and all customers, and am happy in being able to afford a quality service to the community.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently completed a kitchen remodel that took approximately 2 months

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I advise all my customers and clients not to rush into a contract with a general contractor too quickly. Take your time and set the expectation for yourself that most repairs, renovations and remodels are quite involved and oftentimes the scope of work can be scheduled out for weeks, even months. Contact a few contractors, being sure to gather and save all written documentation from each After you have spoken with at least a few different contractors, take the time to go over all estimates and proposals individually as well as collectively to compare and contrast, ultimately making your final decision with informed confidence.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
I encourage customers to take a few moments and research into the scope of work that they are trying to have completed, whether it be a repair and you are looking up just a general outline of what is involved or if it is a remodel or renovation and you were looking at the sign ideas and you are looking up interior lighting layouts. I believe this preliminary research allows the contractor and customer to be on the same page during the installation or repair process.
