Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have discounted rates available for recognized non-profits.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I will answer any questions they have and provide my contract for the event. I will hold the date and time for three days from the point of contact. The client has this time to review the contract and pay a 50% booking fee to reserve my time. Once the booking fee and the contract are returned, your event is securely booked. **The event is not considered booked until both the completed contract and booking fee are received.**

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Regularly attend face and body art conferences and have taken classes with The Wolfe Brothers (Evil Twin Fx), Mark Reid, Pashur, Dutch, Deborah Brommer, Jen Schaefer, Katie Bachand, Wendy Rover, and more. I just completed an advanced body painting class in extreme body painting at the Face and Body Art International Convention in South Florida. I also competed in both face and body painting. I train with the best in the business so that I can bring you and your guests AMAZING works of art. I also happen to be an emergency and critical care veterinary medical doctor, so while I won't be painting your pet, rest assured I will take every reasonable precaution to protect your family from illness.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I originally started working in haunted houses in Miami, FL in middle school. From there I expanded my art to face painting, body painting, glitter tattoos, and more!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvahs, baby bump (pre-natal) painting, non-profit fundraisers, corporate events, company picnics, summer camps, seasonal festivals, Halloween events, haunted houses, arts & craft fairs, girls night out, slumber parties, night clubs, UV reactive painting events

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
What products do they use? Face painters should only use professional FDA compliant, hypoallergenic theatrical makeup and cosmetic-grade glitter. **Craft paint, acrylics, craft glitter, and markers are unsafe for faces!** To note: No face paint is FDA approved, only FDA compliant. The FDA doesn't approve cosmetics. If a face painter says they use FDA-approved products, they're confused on this point. Ask for references: Good face painters provide examples of their work and references to clients. Some poorly trained face painters might use other artists' work on their site, so ask! Insurance: Quality face painters will invest in liability insurance and provide you with proof of insurance should you ask. Cost Professional face paint products, travel to your event, and continuing education and conventions are expensive. If they're charging significantly less than others, they're probably skimping on safe products, insurance, or self-education. Expect to pay anywhere from $125-$250 an hour for a quality face painter. Costumes, magic shows, other services such as balloon twisting, and clowning will increase their rate. It's not worth risking disappointed guests! A little research will make sure your guests safely sparkle and have a wonderful time at your party.
