Introduction

It's great to meet you! My name is Amanda, and I serve amazing people like you locally and out in adventurous places around Washington and Oregon. The most important thing to me when providing services is your experience with me rather than the cost of services. This means that I meet you at the place you currently are in life. I will always support you finding what is best for you, even if that is not me! I look forward to speaking with you soon! -Amanda Brewer

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is based off of the cost of living in the area I am shooting in, and I also take into account the person's status. Any first responders, law enforcement, military, union workers, all receive a discount of my services in gratitude for the service to the country.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I greet them and get to know about them a little bit, what they are looking for in their shoot, what specific poses or shots they are looking for, and then we get to work having fun!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have studied with McKay Photography Academy in California on a Safari, and I have self taught myself photography through YouTube, practicing, and lots of studying.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started because my dad had been a photographer for some time, and since then I have continued my education and self taught myself to do portraits. It's a great learning experience, and I never stop learning.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All types! From young kids to older people, I am happy to work with whoever needs their photos done.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently performed a "Kintsugi" shoot which is a Japanese art form of mending something broken with gold. This person had gone through a traumatic event and it resulted in hospitalization. She has scars and wanted a photoshoot to commemerate her survival and how she will always come back stronger. Her scars were painted in gold. I originally quoted her for a 30 minute shoot, but it was well worth the three hours we spent with all the different angles she wanted and the artistic shots that came out.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
The most important piece of advice I can give is to keep your mind open and advocate for yourself. If you meet with a photographer and you hit it off right away, chances are that you will have an amazing time during your session. Don't be afraid to stand up and let the photographer know that you don't like something. Your satisfaction and enjoyment will always be the most important to me in any session you book, because in the end, you will look back on your photos and remember your experience each time.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Like anything important, really consider how you want your shoot to go. What do you want to wear? Where do you want to get your photos done? When? Who is going with you? Photo sessions can be really easy, and some can be stressful if not planned for properly. The more time you have to talk to your photographer and to plan and prepare yourself and your family for a shoot, the better. Frequent conversations with your photographer and what you're looking for will help prepare them to make your shoot the most memorable and with little stress on your part!
