Welcome to What's The Occasion Photography! We (Thomas and Amanda) are a couple based in Virginia but we travel all across the East Coast. Together, we are a photography team that specializes in: Couples, Engagement, Sports, Children, and Lifestyle Photography. Our adventure started out of our mutual love for photography. We both firmly believe photos are more than just a simple click on a phone. They are a reflection of that person's soul. They remind us who we are, where we have been, the people that matter most to us, and most importantly a memory that we will always cherish. We are looking forward to connecting with you!

I am a photographer based in Virginia Beach. I love working with people on their celebrations, parties, weddings, events, etc. I love so many aspects of photography, and the challenges and rewards it provides. The fondness I have for teamwork, big events, and creativity is still so evident in my photography. My life story and how I came into photography is a windy road, and I'll spare you the details. I was a ski coach for the US Olympic Team when I decided that I wanted to spend more time at home in a warmer climate, get married, and challenge myself in a whole new way. Photography has dared me to confront the world in a much different way and helped me enjoy my surroundings, cope with my fears, and ease (a little) of my social awkwardness :). I truly could not imagine doing anything else! - Andrew
