From a young age Mahrou has found a natural connection to the camera. Having never been taught how to use her first film camera, this was a blessing in disguise. Learning by making mistakes, and then correcting, led to the formation of her unique photographic eye. She remembers the dark room being a place of discovery and magic. Even the unintentional aspects of film creation were beautiful. While also studying graphic design at the same time, she was led into the digital world. Digital photography/editing started to carve a new path for her. Combining the skills she learned in school, paired with real world experience, Mahrou found a true passion for black and white photography. Black and white allows an expression of more emotion. When we only see black and shades of gray this keeps us from finding distraction with color. After graduating with a B.F.A in graphic design in 2012, life instead gave more opportunities with photography. This includes in-studio commercial photography, corporate events, concerts, sports, family portraits, and more.

Photography is more than a job or a passion, it is a mission to capture the present in forever and I am truly grateful I've been gifted with such skills and vision. With more than 7 years of experience, my focus is quality and unicity. That gave me the opportunity of working with many bloggers, artist and celebrities as the personal photographer of Michael Jackson: Sam Emerson or the journalist of the New York Times: Nick Madigan, the model and public person/ influencer with over 4m followers: Haley Kalil, etc. I worked with many designers; attended several fashion shows in Chicago and NY Fashion Week. In 2023 I have opened the most unique photo studio in Chicago named "Art on You Studio". With high education in Sciences of Communication, I can say that photography is a therapy meant to help you a lot to build confidence and start loving who you are. Some of my competitors might be cheaper, but what I am offering is not just a service, it is an experience you will never forget.
