Introduction

(Photographer for Stroll-Hunting Creek Magazine) My name is Elizabeth, and I specialize in natural light, true to life photography: proposals, engagements, families, portraits, maternity, and newborn. I am always flexible with my customers and understanding of what you are comfortable paying for photos, as well as the amount of patience it requires before you get your photos back. That's why you shouldn't be afraid to ask about my pricing, and you can expect photos back within one week. What is most important for you to know while visiting my page and considering services is that I am here for you. You likely already have photos envisioned for an occasion, and I would love to be part of the planning and implementation to create what you hope for. If you don’t have a clear vision, I will share my own suggestions and inspirations, as well as tailor the shoot after I learn more about you.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Photography is a passion of mine, and I want to bring other's visions to life with photos. Pricing should not be the most significant determinant, so please don't hesitate to ask about shorter sessions.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Getting to know my customers, sending them tip sheets for the session including clothing suggestions, identifying their location and style, and being available for any questions/concerns along the way. After scheduling the location and date, the rest is up to me.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have completed Nigel Danson's course Mastering the Art of Landscape Photography as well as five photography courses through Nikon School.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started out taking landscape photographs locally, and after several months I bought my new Nikon, which has forced me to get out and practice even more. After several months, colleagues and friends began reaching out, encouraging me to try portraits or couples, so I started taking courses online to master posing, and I started traveling to spots with portraits in mind.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have worked with engaged couples, families (including babies and pets), families who are expecting, seniors, and individuals wanting professional headshots.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent project that I completed was a family photo session with a baby and a toddler while the beautiful aspens were bright yellow. When the family arrived, the parents were very anxious because the baby had an accident on the way over and they did not bring a change of clothes. I told them it would not be an issue and we worked together to hide the stains and hold the baby in ways to conceal the concern. The photos turned out great. In total, session and post processing took me six hours.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
There are many skilled photographers in the greater Louisville area. Before looking, know what you like to see in a photo and how you may like to add your own style. Find someone who wants to hear your ideas. And of course, set your budget and stick to it!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is most important to me about my shoot? (location, season, time of day, outfits, style) Do I know what I want from my photos or do I need guidance? What am I looking for in a professional photographer? What is my set budget? How many images do I want after the shoot?
