Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I'm generally starting at 250 for quick sessions in studio or outside (think one or two finished headshots), and starting at around 500 for longer sessions.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
If it is a brief photoshoot (headshots in the studio) I just have you come in and meet at the shoot. If we're doing a senior portrait session I prefer a meetup beforehand. If we're doing a lifestyle shoot or something commercial we'll need to have a clear definition of finished product

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
BA in Cinema/Media communication from George Fox University.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've always been captivated by visuals. I remember seeing abstract photography in high school and how I felt so moved by seeing things in a new perspective.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked on styled shoots for larger companies for lifestyle and/or product, and lots of headshot sessions for professionals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I really liked the nutritionist shoot I did (featured in projects). The client was super fun to work with, and I had a great assistant with me who arranged the fruit is such delicious ways. It turned out wonderful.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Know your budget, know your end result. Knowing the final product gives a clear goal for both you and me, and we'll get a lot closer to what you want than just saying "you're the professional" and hoping I can read your mind!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What do you want to "say" with your photo? Do you want to look joyful, concerned, sinister, fresh, confident? I think knowing what you want to say will help us know where and how to shoot to achieve that goal.
