I have been teaching drum set lessons for 20 years and have had students go on to prestigious music schools, as well as be lifelong hobbyists. I teach all styles and specialize in jazz. I love to empower students of all ages, even as young as 3, learn to internalize how to grow while having fun with their instruments. I have had students stick with me for more than 12 years regardless of where I have moved (I am available for Skype lessons and they work just as well.). I'm always willing to work something out financially, so I use a sliding-scale method of payment where appropriate.

Hi! I’m Ryan, and I am a Berklee alum. I am definitely a music specialist, but I also regularly offer math tutoring and chess lessons. I am based in Maryland, but I give online lessons to my remote students. Even before my time at Berklee, I spent years striving to put myself into every musical situation possible. This gave me a multi-perspective understanding that allows me to comfortably advise students of all ages and backgrounds regarding several different instruments, styles, and theoretical concepts. My favorite part about teaching, regardless of discipline, is the fact that it allows me to keep growing and learning while sharing my experiences to help others do the same. My studio is located in Richfield, MN. I offer in-studio and online lessons. I teach contemporary (jazz, blues, folk, pop, country, etc) and classical music. My specialties are jazz and improvisation. My students are performing musicians, casual musicians, beginners, composers & songwriters. They sing, play piano, keyboard, acoustic guitar and banjo. Hello! I am very excited about all things music. The goal of my teaching is to get you excited about learning how to play. If that means working on nursery rhymes or pop music or reggae and so on, that's 100% fine with me. I have never turned anyone away that wants to learn.
