Hi! I'm June (she/they). I am based in North East Los Angeles, California, and I offer in person or online lessons. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students gain confidence and find joy in making music. Whether I am building a solid foundation of positive experiences for a young student, or working with an older student overcome trauma from harmful teachers in the past - I want to help you integrate music learning as a sustainable and fulfilling lifelong practice! I offer lessons in: - guitar - electric bass - upright bass - music theory - songwriting - singing (basic technique, how to sing harmonies, writing lyrics and melodies) As a teacher you can expect me to build a custom plan for you to reach your goals that includes structured exercises, learning music that inspires you, studying music theory as it pertains to your area of study, self care practices, and time to play with and explore your instrument in a fun and non-judgmental manner. As a guitarist and bassist I have taught a wide variety of styles (jazz. classical, rock, folk, fingerstyle, etc), but my favorite students to work with are involved with writing their own music. I love integrating music theory, composition and singing into my instrumental teaching practices.
