Teaching all ages voice and piano for years, am also a performer with 2 groups, have a BA in Performance. Teach beginners to professionals, all styles, from Gospel, R&B, Music Theater, Jazz, Pop, to Classical Art Song, and Opera. Teach in many languages, if that's your thing, have a very large music library here in studio. I can get you there! And prepare you for any special performance, audition, and goal. Hi! My name is Maria Semes and I am a violin and viola teacher in the Baltimore/DC area. I can provide music for your event. Reasons to hire me: I am a tenured member of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. I received my Bachelor and Master’s of Music from The Juilliard School in NYC. I have 15+ years of teaching experience of all ages and levels. I have 15+ years of music entertainment experience from performing at events in NYC. I can perform string quartets, string trios or string duos, or solo violin at your event.

Music is my passion. I teach students of all ages, but I specialize in lessons for children. I have been teaching for 40 years, with the last 14 offering in home music lessons. This was a huge convenience for my clients, given the traffic in our region. We switched to all Virtual lessons in March of 2020 due to the Pandemic. We now teach students from all over the country. With over 42 years of live performance experience, and decades of experience as a session vocalist and guitarist, I can mentor my students in a way that few other instructors can offer.
