Hello! My name is Sam Hagen. I provide voice and piano lessons to students in Twin Cities area. I'm passionate about high quality music making and teaching. Lessons are a time for each student to grow individually both inside and outside the studio. I received a Bachelor of Music degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and a Masters of Arts in Teaching degree from Minnesota State University, Mankato. My studio is located in Richfield, MN. I offer in-studio and online lessons. I teach contemporary (jazz, blues, folk, pop, country, etc) and classical music. My specialties are jazz and improvisation. My students are performing musicians, casual musicians, beginners, composers & songwriters. They sing, play piano, keyboard, acoustic guitar and banjo. Structure of music: I teach the ability to play any song Reading one note and having the knowledge to add cords both hands to that note. Edit this class I took 13 years lessons from nuns 9 years jazz played professionally 9 years. I have four students who can very successfully play any song with One Note and cords because they now understand the structure of music. My references say I'm am patient and work at anyone's pace with solutions on how do advance in musc understanding and skills. The largest challenge is to their hands to obey them. $30 is a half hour however depending on the situation there's no extra to go 45 minutes or an hour if needed.

I am a private online piano teacher serving students nationwide. I'm dedicated to working with students to cultivate their musical abilities and to enjoy the lifelong pursuit of piano.
