Teaching all ages voice and piano for years, am also a performer with 2 groups, have a BA in Performance. Teach beginners to professionals, all styles, from Gospel, R&B, Music Theater, Jazz, Pop, to Classical Art Song, and Opera. Teach in many languages, if that's your thing, have a very large music library here in studio. I can get you there! And prepare you for any special performance, audition, and goal. Hello! My name is Johnny and I’ve been teaching music lessons since 2011. I’m a multi-instrumentalist who primarily teaches drums and guitar. I specialize in online lessons and provide a seamless lesson experience for students around the country, assisting them in achieving their musical goals. I come from a musical family and have been around music all my life. Music is truly a passion for me and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and guiding students on their own musical journey. I have 13 years of teaching experience and over 20 years of gigging experience, playing with some of Charlotte, NC's greatest legends. I’m available to teach a variety of musical styles as well as music theory and songwriting. I’m also available for freelance drumming and solo acoustic performance. I have been a pianist since 1974, celebrating 51 years! and teaching since 2005, it is who I am. I live for music! I feel it's important for me to pass the gift that was instilled in me by my first music instructor, Sonny Harris. You will not only learn classical but also learn the blues, jazz, latin, rock, and pop and even start to learn how to compose music and learn how to improvise. My studio is located in the Steele Creek area (South Charlotte) it is a modern,professional, and relaxed enviorment.You will learn how to read music correctly but you will also learn how to feel music and understand the workings of how everything fits together, this is where the magic happens for you will be able to start the process of composing, improvising and truly discovering yourself as a musician!
