**I DO NOT OFFER IN HOME OR REMOTE LESSONS. I ONLY TEACH AT MY STUDIO IN LEVITTOWN** If you are looking for in home or remote lessons please don’t reach out. Thank you. 🙏🏻 Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Andrew and I have been a musician for the better part of my life and teaching private 1 on 1 lessons for the last 10 years. Growing up, learning more about music was always exciting to me and I was very very lucky to have a host of amazing music instructors. I’m grateful to get to pass on many of the lessons the bestowed on my to my students, infused with my own musical experiences and teaching style. I was born and raised on Long Island. As a result of this I was a part of the NYSSMA festival every year growing up and went on to be a part of the All County, All State, and All National student ensembles through my high school career. After finishing high school, my studies took me to NYU to study jazz music performance. There, I had the opportunity to study with some of the worlds most highly respected music faculty. Since finishing college, I have been a working professional musician splitting my time between preforming, playing for recording sessions, and growing my own studio of students. For younger students, I teach using my own method, which prioritizes creating a long lasting love and curiosity around music as opposed to strict technique based lessons from the start. It is very easy for young players to get frustrated and want to quit if the lessons feel to academic. I strive to work in the academic lessons in ways that are almost unnoticed by the student. Like hiding vegetables in their ice cream. Make the lessons fun and exciting while creating good habits and instilling an understanding for music that they may not even understand is happening at the time. Music is a lifelong pursuit and that is how I teach. This method has resulted in my students receiving consistently high NYSSMA scores and selection for numerous honor band positions. Should you have questions, I would love to discuss this further with you. As far as adult students go, it’s a little more open ended. Coming to me with a clear goal in mind, such as a piece you wish to play or some aspect of your musicianship you want to improve, are great places to start. If you come to me without some kind of goal, it’s like going to the gym with a trainer but not knowing if you want to get better and lifting or running. There are different approaches to achieving every goal and If you know where you want to be, I can give you the tools to get there. I teach out of my home in Levittown currently. I have a full studio with all the equipment we need for our lessons. Please don’t hesitate to reach out! I would love to have you over and show you the space. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.
