Tina has been practicing yoga since 2010 when she was searching for a treatment to her aching muscles and sore bones caused by her dancing and active lifestyle. What began as an effective method of therapy quickly blossomed into a journey of self-discovery encompassing both mindfulness and fitness. Tina regularly participates in workshops, conferences, and retreats and has been fortunate to study under some amazing teachers, including Nancy Gilgoff, Richard Freeman, Tim Miller, David Roche, Sharath Jois, and Brian Hogencamp. Tina espouses the core principle of “99% Practice, 1% Theory”, and the key tenet that, “Whatever we learn, read and hear, we should put the time to practice and apply it to our life”. In addition to her yoga studies, she is a professional IT worker, has a love of travel, and Indian classical music(Sitar and Harmonium), and has an impassioned zest for life. After years of practice and experimenting with different styles such as Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Hatha, and Kirtan Meditation, she has a strong passion for sharing her acquired experience so that others might reap the benefits of yoga. Yoga has been one of the greatest gifts in her life and she is passionate about introducing it into the lives of all she is fortunate to teach. Tina teaches based on the notion that if you change your energy you change your mind. Her classes are a blend of a complementary ration of flexibility, strength, and balance while encouraging students to exercise their inner intuition and breath to guide the practice. Students can expect verbal cues, demonstration of poses, and occasional hands-on adjustment, mental health awareness suggestions. She strives to help students build strong bodies, find clarity of mind and experience inner peace. Namaste!
