My name is Michael J. Greenberg and I am the managing partner at Michael J. Greenberg, P.C., an estate planning and elder law boutique firm. Estate planning is rarely a straightforward process for those with assets to protect; the challenges may at first seem unusual and problematic. As an experienced estate planning attorney, I encounter these cases often and successfully guide individuals and families through the planning process. Situations that I address include: • People with significant assets in art or other valuables, who need to work through donations vs. gifting, while living or as part of a Will or Trust. • Business owners passing ownership to one (but not all) of their offspring, meaning that estate planning must provide for a truly equitable distribution. • Planning for the later stages of life without close relatives or friends nearby. I entered estate planning after my father was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, and my family sought the help of an estate planning attorney. To this day, part of my practice focuses on long term care planning, disability planning, elder law and special needs planning. I am personally invested in issues my clients face each day and strive to provide compassionate and reassuring guidance. In addition to a busy legal practice, I speak frequently to community groups throughout the New York Metropolitan area on Estate Planning and Asset Protection topics. I also enjoy chairing the Legal Committee of the NYC Alzheimer’s Association. In my spare time, I enjoy tennis, indoor cycling and yoga. I am licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Florida.
