My AV scope of work consist of home theater installation equipment, TV mounting, speaker mounting, cable running, network drops, and wireless/wired security camera installation. I always strive to leave my customer with more than just a smile on their face. I enjoy the work I do and you can be sure that it will be done in a timely and professional manner.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Any size TV mounting on drywall or concrete is $90 (no wires hidden) per TV. Any size TV with wires hidden is $150 per TV (this includes outlet behind TV.) Half Home Theater Install (already pre wired during construction) is $750. Includes TV mounting of any size, speakers (ceiling speakers and in wall speakers) subwoofer install, and AVR installation and programming. Full Home Theater Install (I have to run wire) is $1300. Includes full installation mentioned above. (I do not supply home theater furniture but can install for a fee if needed) Wired security camera install is $350 per drop. Example: 5 cameras total = $1750 Includes DVR programming and install. Wireless camera install is $100 per camera installed. I do not supply the equipment other than my tools and materials I will be using during the job. All equipment like TV’s speakers, cameras, etc. must be provided by customer. If guidance is needed purchasing, I can most certainly do so for no extra cost. For Home Theater installs and wired security camera installs I prefer to walk the site before starting to get a better view and grasp of the environment. I do charge a $100 walkthrough fee that gets waived if hired. During this walkthrough I will be looking at the area of the install and the attic (for any obstructions incase I have to run wire). Starting early morning is preferably best. I do not charge per the day, I charge per job. So if a job takes me 3 days to finish (which I doubt) you will never pay anything extra.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I introduce myself and let them know my background and the areas I specialize in. I like to get as much detail as possible about the job site before starting my work.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
In the process of completing my CTS (certified technology specialist) certification and currently hold a BIAMP Tesira software certification. Mainly used for commercial.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Started working for an AV company in 2020 that worked on commercial and government facilities. Learned how to run cable, terminate cable, install equipment racks, mount TV’s, speakers, cameras, and projectors. Worked in cities like San Antonio, Austin, Houston, Dallas, Lubbock and Corpus. Also traveled to different states like Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida for jobs. Right now I work full time in Fort Sam Houston as an Audio/Video specialist In charge of and maintaining and repairing AV equipment.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Residential and commercial including government.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Outdoor patio surround sound system. 5 speakers mounting to the wall with wires ran to each speaker from the AVR installed outside. Protected.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure you hire someone who knows the ins and outs of AV. You may get someone who only learned from watching YouTube videos but getting the person that has as much as experience as me is crucial and important. I’ve learned so much from working residential and commercial. I’ve seen both sides.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How long have they been doing this? Are they familiar with both residential and commercial? Can they troubleshoot if things go sideways?
