What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do my best to keep my pricing fair and consistent for my clients. Pricing varies depending on the date, location, and needs of your event. For instance, would you like to book me solo or with my full band? Will you need us to provide sound and lighting? These variables must be considered before I can give you an accurate idea of the price. Contact me today for a free, no-obligation quote!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My typical process for working with a new customer looks like this:
First, we'll discuss your needs and see if my services are a good fit. If yes, we'll confirm the price and fine tune the details of your event such as set list, dress code, etc.
Once we have everything in place, I'll send over my performance agreement via email. To confirm, you'll provide me with your signature and a 50% deposit to reserve the date. Two weeks prior to your event the remaining balance is due and I will reach out to finalize event details.
On the day of, we will arrive early to set up the stage before any guests arrive. I'll text you when I'm on my way, arrive an hour prior to showtime for soundcheck, and give your guests an amazing performance at the appointed time.
Once my performance is over I will throw on a suitable Spotify playlist to cover dead air while your guests start making their way out the door, and at a reasonable time, we will pack up all the equipment, load out, and head home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Since 2009 I’ve played over 1200 shows all across the US and the Caribbean. Corporate events, cruise ships, clubs, festivals, fairs, weddings, wineries, and more - you name it, I've played it.
Over the years I’ve perfected my craft by honing every aspect of my business from stage performance, to sound engineering, setlist curation, and most importantly: client satisfaction.
I’m a seasoned entertainment professional and your event is in good hands!
How did you get started doing this type of work?
For as long as I can remember I've always loved music— I started performing in my teens at coffeeshops and school get togethers, and my career just unfolded from there.
In college I hosted open mics at the infamous Alaskan Hotel & Bar in my hometown of Juneau, Alaska. After a few years of that I made my way to Nashville where I paid my dues on Broadway Street, and once I'd honed my show to a truly professional level, I went to work for Princess and Carnival Cruise Lines.
I've since transitioned back shoreside and now specialize in providing premium entertainment for corporate clients around the country.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Though I have performed shows of many different genres in the past, my best customers are people all over the US who have an appreciation for country, rock, & blues music, and want to have a good gosh-darn time.
I frequently play 2-3 hour receptions at conferences and trade shows, but my clientele spans from private citizens hosting birthday parties at their homes, to weddings, to public fairs and festivals.
I find my show is very popular all over the country because an authentic, professional country music experience can be difficult to come by no matter where you live.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently played a show with my band at Stubb’s Bar-B-Q in Austin, Texas. We performed to a large crowd of government officials and their staff as they enjoyed an all-you-can-eat buffet of the best brisket and pulled pork in Texas.
The energy of the show flowed perfectly - we started the performance with some upbeat tunes which got everyone in a good mood, then cooled it off with some classic slow dances that had all the couples out on the dance floor.
After that we had a blast when I surprised a gal who’s birthday had been the day before by bringing her up on stage and leading the whole crowd in singing “Happy Birthday” to her to celebrate!
Finally, we wrapped up with a couple sing-along favorites: “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and “Friends in Low Places.” The crowd was amazing and very interactive - every person in the room was singing by the end!
It was an A+ 100/100 show for everyone involved. Hands down my best show of the year (so far...!)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First and foremost, make sure you hire a performer who can give you the type of show that you want. There's lots of variety singers out there that claim they can play any song under the sun, and that's great, but if you're specifically looking for an AUTHENTIC country artist, make sure you hire someone that specializes in that!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Before talking to a professional for your project, you should definitely figure out the date, time, and venue of the event, and have a general sense of what type of show you're looking for and what your budget is.
Once you have all of that prepared, it will be easy to find and connect with suitable artists that can help you with the rest of the process!
