Introduction

Versatile singer, guitarist, and songwriter, offering a range of musical experiences from soulful solo acoustic sets to dynamic quartet band performances. Fall in love with your favorite songs all over again, tailored to suit your event. I perform for festivals, venues and private events, as well as more intimate audiences in restaurants and backyards. My greatest passion is music and it doesn't matter where I am, I'm going to give it my all. I've been performing live music for over 12 years and my repertoire spans from the 1950's to the present, ranging from The Beatles to Tom Petty to Nirvana to Chris Stapleton. (Ask for my song list!) I perform over 100 private events per year, so I'm great with a wide age range, special requests and can assist with event planning (around the entertainment). I would love to provide price quotes tiered up to a 5 piece band. That way you can find the perfect balance for your budget and music entertainment needs.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My minimum fee is $500. Typically I can perform solo for up to 3 hours for that price depending on the type of event and sound requirements. Because every project is different, I'm happy to provide a custom price quote tiered for up to a 5 piece band. That way you can find the perfect balance for your budget and music entertainment needs.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically the customer will email me to start the conversation. We'll then schedule a quick call to go over specifics. From there, I will issue a contract and take a 50% deposit to hold the date. Any questions and follow up calls are welcomed once the date is confirmed. The remaining balance is due on the dat of the performance.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I learned by doing it... A LOT. I've played well over 1,000 shows over the last 12 years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started playing out after graduating high school in 2011 in coffee shops and open mics until I struck up my first serious band Sunset Voodoo with school friends. I helped to grow the band from scratch and we played dozens of headlining shows and festivals through my college years at ASU and for about four years after. I graduated with a BS in Entrepreneurship and used the skills and business acumen I garnered there to apply to the music industry. I've had my solo project for about four years now and it is where the majority of my time and passion goes towards.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Typically there are three types of clients I work with through Thumbtack. - Wedding couples that want music for ceremony, cocktail hour and/or reception. I perform solo and with up to a 5 piece band. - Corporate event planners that need music entertainment for their specific events and parties - Private party clients. These are typically celebrations like graduations, milestone birthday parties or just an excuse to get together with friends. Usually, I will perform in the client's home. Sometimes the client will rent a venue for the party. I'm open to whatever the client decides.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I typically don't take bookings more than 6 months in advance, but there are instances where I will. A lot of my bookings are done within 1-3 months of the event. My favorite recent event was a wedding up in Sedona where I performed acoustic guitar for a ceremony out on a beautiful lawn and then moved to a giant tent that was set up for the dinner and reception where I performed with a three piece band. The wedding was at a resort and they couldn't have music too loud outdoors due to a city ordinance, so it didn't call for a large band.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Since I perform at private events on a weekly basis, I can offer my advice on anything from flow of events, length of performance and song selection.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
The client should confirm with the venue where the event will take place and whether live music is acceptable for it.
