Introduction

Bonjour and Welcome! PLEASE READ BEFORE REACHING OUT ! Before sending a request through this platform, please reach out to me directly on social media first (just search my name — I’m easy to find!). Platforms like Thumbtack charge artists for every inquiry, even before we connect — so reaching out directly helps independent musicians like me continue doing what we love. 💛 I’m Tiphanie Doucet, an international singer, harpist, and multi-instrumentalist (guitar, piano) known for creating elegant, heartfelt performances. With roots between France and the U.S., my style blends French classics, old-school charm, and modern pop — performed with a dreamy, refined touch. ✨ What I Offer – **Solo performances** for weddings (ceremony & cocktail hour), private parties, corporate events, and elegant dinners – **Duo formats** with violinist or guitarist for richer acoustic moments – **Trio or full band** setups for wedding receptions, parties, and larger events – Bilingual MC-style coordination — I’m fluent in French and happy to guide guests with the mic if needed – Custom song requests: I’m happy to learn up to **5 special songs** for ceremonies or meaningful moments 🎶 Style & Atmosphere My petite harp, warm voice, and tasteful musical choices create an intimate and cinematic vibe. Ideal for romantic, elegant settings — think brunches, garden weddings, rooftops, art galleries, and more. 🌍 Where I've Performed **New York:** Rainbow Room, Rockwood Music Hall, Cipriani’s, The Bitter End, Bowery Electric, Times Square. **New Jersey:** Ryland Inn, Liberty House, The Manor in West Orange, Chart House Weehawken, Battello Jersey City. **Los Angeles:** Roosevelt Hotel, Whisky a Go Go, House of Blues, Hotel Café. **Florida:** Historic Spanish Point, Sarasota. **Paris:** Casino de Paris, Palais des Congrès, Folies Bergère, Hôtel de Crillon, Hôtel Raphael, Accor Arena VIP Bar, Maison Breguet. **Saint-Tropez:** Café de Paris, Gigi Ramatuelle (summer residency), Château de la Messardière. **Alpes-Maritimes:** Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat. **Geneva:** Four Seasons Hotel. **Thailand:** Boathouse Hotel – Resident Jazz Singer (2008–2009). **St. Barths:** Eden Rock (wedding performances), Cheval Blanc (private beach dinners), Sereno Hotel (live happy hour), Christopher Hotel (proposals), Yacht Club. --- 📩 Booking & Rates Please note : My minimum fee for performance under an hour and near my home is $300 Once we confirm anything, I always provide a clear agreement/contract. Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Please know that my minimum booking fee is 300 dollars even if it's under an hour. For jobs that are further than 20 miles from home, I charge an extra fee to cover the expense of gas, time in the car, and maintenance. If you would like to add a second musician to the gig ( violin/ saxe/ second guitarist) it's possible !

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Once we have spoken here it's good to speak on the phone, and then when you decide to hire me, I always ask the number of guests, the room, and how they feel about the music they want, it can be through specific songs, or music genre, or specific style ...also if they want more low key and background music or dancing or both. If it's a ceremony or funeral, where there is specific songs request, I can sometimes send a recording before they book. Once we agree on the style, the band members etc... I keep communicating with them about the song choices, or favorite songs. We always try to call or meet in person if time or distance allows it. I always draw a contract, and the day of the performance I always try to accommodate anything they would like me to do like announcements, help for the toast, invite the guest to dance etc.....I am super found of feeling I was part of their happiness, I understand this is a huge moment for them, they are the center of attention, and they are overwhelmed with a lot that day! So we are never coming as just "Performers " that will be separate from them, always try to make them feel we are part of their friends and family. During the event I always try to feel the crowd and fit my song choices too, I love when get involved too if they want, like singing a song etc... I always try to help them before with meeting to rehearse etc...

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I am in the performing world since 20 years. I started acting on TV at 16, dancing at 8, I was performing on big stage and touring as a dancer at 20... I played hard for 15 years then piano, then guitar. I went to music school in Paris, LA, I learned Jazz there. I taught myself the guitar and started writing songs. I found my own style, my own way of doing any song, and this is what lead me to get more and more gigs. I can sing any style now, but my voice color fits Jazz, pop-jazz and folk the best .

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was singing in a jazz band when in France, but I was not the leader. I was just coming to the gig as they would hire me. When I moved to USA I realized I had great things to offer as a French Jazz singer, and I started a band with just a pianist and guitarist. It was different, but it was working well, and since I kind of kept this intimate set up because people really like it. Then as a singer guitarist people started to hire me in restaurants, then this Cruise entertainment company spotted me during a show and I started to get more and more solo stuff.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All kinds. People getting married, company doing special events for their employees or customers, Private party, Baby Showers, funeral, also lots of restaurant managers... Since I went back to my harp I sometimes play for famous / Big CEO personalities from all over the world, in beautiful places.... I feel very lucky

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
It’s my on going project : my own music. I basically play cover gigs to support my own project. I write, record, produce. I have a second album coming up this summer.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Always keep in mind the Hourly price that Thumbtack ask us to publish can be flexible, and it has to include the travel time. Keep in mind the lower the price the less professional you will hire.
