Introduction

“We had the pleasure of having Mike play for our wedding ceremony on the beach and cocktail hour at a nearby house. We actually enjoyed the ambiance so much we extended our time with him through our dinner, which he was happy to do. Highly recommend booking him for your next event!” - Carly Contract 8/26/24 “Exceptional performance by Mike. His country and bluegrass tunes were soothing and engaging. All of our guests and our team loved having Mike be part of our day long event. Can’t wait to have him join at one of our community events again!!!” - Christina Hollingsworth 10/13/24 🌞Hello! Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I usually charge a minimum of $500 for solo-acoustic. Usually that price can vary based on length of travel, set-up time, and sound equipment. Based on the individual event, we can talk about pricing for more time, up to a 4 piece band and work with what the client needs for the event. I am available to perform at your event as solo, duo, trio, and full band.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically the customer will email me to start the conversation. We'll then schedule a quick call to go over specifics. From there, I will issue a contract and take a 50% deposit to hold the date. Any questions and follow up calls are welcomed once the date is confirmed. The balance is due on the day of the performance.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I got my training from the 15 plus years of working in the music industry. By just getting out there and "doing it" has given me invaluable experience.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started by getting asked by friends to play their wedding and parties for pay. It was amazing and I've been doing it ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Typically there are 3 types of clients I work with. - Wedding couples that want music for ceremony, cocktail hour and/or reception. I perform solo and with up to a 6 piece band. - Corporate event planners that need music entertainment for their specific events and parties. - Private party clients. These are typically celebrations like anniversaries, graduations, milestone birthday parties or just an excuse to get together with friends. Usually, I will perform in the client's home. Sometimes the client will rent a venue for the party. I'm open to whatever the client decides.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
A recent event I played, was a graduation party in Sebastopol. It was with my band. People were having a blast dancing, and singing along. The weather and vibe were perfect.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Since I perform private events on a weekly basis, I can offer my advice on anything from flow of events, length of performance and song selection.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
The client should know their budget and confirm the venue where the event will take place before contacting me. I'm flexible, but these details help move the booking process along faster.
