My main focus is my singing and DJ'ing! I also play acoustic guitar and drums. I have a set that features just me and my acoustic guitar with the addition of a drum machine on some songs. I sing a wide of songs from country, pop, rock, soul, and reggae as well as oldies. I also have a set I call 'Bringing in the Band", the bass, drums, lead guitar, back up vocals are all pre-recorded then However I still love mellow acoustic sets. In the past few years I switch to using backup tracks singingI Crooner type songs. I love singing the songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Bobby Darin, the Platters, Five Satins, Elvis Presley, Engelbert Humperdinck, Lionel Richie, etc.
At the same time, I also sing: Bruno Mars, Jason Aldean, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Pharrell Williams, Ed Sheehan, Sam Smith, Van Morrison, Gordon Lightfoot, and Bon Jovi. I bill my self as Donny B the singing DJ!
I have a great sense both as a musician and as a DJ to play the right music/songs for each occasion. I show up on time and have the right PA system to fit small to large venues. When DJ'ing I'll work with you on the song list. I have songs for any occasion. I've DJ'ed Disco Parties, New Year's Eve Parties, RV Club Parties, Halloween Parties, Saint Paddy's Day parties, Skateboard Contests showcasing heavy metal, punk rock, hard rock, etc! Basically, I'm pretty down to fit into any occasion!
I take few breaks when performing as I enjoy singing and providing music for people so much. I lived in Cherry Valley and moved there from Nothern California. I still play music gigs in Tahoe, Sacramento, Grass Valley, and Santa Cruz. I also travel to Phoenix, AZ and each year and play the D'Vine Restaurant in Mesa and the Saint Amand in Chandler, AZ.
Yes, I'm an older man, but because I've been around actions sports all my life such as skateboarding, surfing, skiing, and snowboarding. I'm very familiar with all styles of music! I worked for ESPN and NBC producing the skateboarding and snowboarding events for the X Games and Dew Tour for over 15 years! I spent years on the Board of Directors for USA Skateboarding and had a hand in having skateboarding added to the Olympics. I was a pro skateboarder in the 70's and because of all years as President of World Cup Skateboarding I was inducted into Skateboarding Hall of Fame and this year inducted into the Vallejo Sports Hall of Fame where I graduated high school and Jr. College.
I've played gigs for teenagers to adults to gigs in senior citizen communities. I use to live in a retirement community called Highland Springs Villiage and I DJ most of the events there as well as sing and play guitar. I also lived next to the Highland Springs Farm and Inn where I was a regular performer for the past 8 years. The Station Tap House in Banning was a local bar that I also perform regularly on Mellow Mondays! In August and September 2020, I played music every Friday and Saturday evening at the American Road Trip Bar & Grill in Yucaipa. Since then, I’ve been playing private and birthday parties in homes. I am good to provide great entertainment. I have also offer Karaoke! April 2021, I moved to Palm Desert to the Palm Desert Greens Country Club. That November I started singing every 3rd Friday of the month in the bar/restaurant. I was also featured with my own show last September on the main clubhouse stage. Today, 2025, I continue to perform there the first Friday of each month. It's so great to be close to many of my music jobs now! I'm a regular also at the Sunrise Country Club, Avondale Country Club, Suncrest Country Club, the Emerald Desert RV and I've been super busy now that masks aren't required. So many people are having parties and that's what I do. I’ve also been very busy with weddings! For 2025, I am very open to performing as a singer, DJ, run Karaoke, MC or sing while playing acoustic guitar. At many gatherings I do a combination of it all. Please contact me! Please see my reviews here on Thumbtack, cheers! Let’s make your gathering a successful fun happening!
