Introduction

Baethoven is a touring violinist, singer, and guitarist whose performances captivate audiences worldwide. From humble beginnings busking in NYC’s subways for lunch money to NPR’s Tiny Desk, SXSW, iHeartRadio, Lincoln Center, and Rolling Loud, her music has reached hundreds of millions. Recently featured on country star Dasha’s RIAA-certified Platinum hit "Austin," she seamlessly blends classical virtuosity with the crowd-pleasing hits of the last 70 years—whether it’s Led Zeppelin, Lizzo, or Rachmaninoff. In fact, you can view her songlist of over a thousand songs. Available for weddings, corporate events, galas, parties, fundraisers and more, Baethoven delivers unforgettable performances—whether solo, duo, or full band with her network of world-class musicians. She also runs Baethoven Bookings LLC, providing top-tier talent for events when she’s unavailable. Beyond live shows, she creates custom audio, from violin recordings for records to personalized wedding songs. With a background in improv comedy and acting (Edinburgh Fringe Festival, UCB), she welcomes unconventional projects, from performing on gondolas to theatrical roles. Whether you need elegant background music or a rockstar presence, Baethoven has you covered.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I have a minimum appearance fee of $750 for up to an hour of performance time. For bookings of 2 hours or more, the rate becomes $500 per hour.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Either through text or through a call, we chat and discuss what you're envisioning, what kind of music you would like performed, any special song requests, when and where the occasion is, settle on a price for the specific services rendered, and then we're basically set! After getting all of this information and you decide you'd like to move forward, then I require a 50% deposit to book out my availability for your event, we set a contract, and then the remaining 50% is due after the event. It's a fairly straight forward and easy process, as it should be!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Bachelor's degree of Music, specifically violin performance, as well as having been raised in NY's music school systems (attending Mannes conservatory prep division for 10 years, as well as Manhattan School of Music summer programs and Laguardia Arts High School). I've been performing live since I was 4 years old, and have always loved doing so. I've toured multiple times around the country with multiple artists, and have booked myself solo for events, festivals, weddings, parties across the country as well. I've even been fortunate enough to perform with on NPR's Tiny Desk supporting the wonderful Taimane Gardner and at SXSW as well. I've done thousands of performances to date.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I began playing violin at 4 years old, so performing for others was something I began doing from a very early age. It was simply a natural extension of what I did, and that became a massive part of my life.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with everyone from large media organizations and festivals, to venue owners, corporate events, weddings, groups planning private parties, and individuals planning surprise marriage proposals.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I recently played a surprise marriage proposal on a Gondola in Long Beach and it was like a scene out of a movie. A very lovely couple met me for what was billed to the bride-to-be as just a romantic date night on a Gondola - I played as they sat and enjoyed the scenery, and eventually we 'stumble across a message in a bottle' in the canal, then make our way out to a big bridge where all their friends and family were ready with beautiful rose petals, which showered down on us after she said yes! You can view the video on my profile here, it was such a magical moment to be a part of and another reason I love my job.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My advice is, if you're feeling a bit shy or inexperienced because you've never hired a musician for a service before, that it's a very easy and painless process! So just ask any questions you need to ask, and we'll walk you through the process in a way that should make you feel at ease.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
If you have any song requests, having that in mind beforehand is always great, because the more prep time we have for the music, the better!
