Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My minimum fee is $500 (regardless of event length) and can be up to $4,500. The low-end includes just a solo act (with or without vocals, any number of instruments/styles). The high end includes a whole production team, professional stage and lighting, on-site sound engineer, and a dazzling immersive show that will leave your guests breathless. In-between are various group packages, including duo, trio, and full band.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I generally like to get on a call as quickly as possible, to nail down the details of the event. I'm also open to working things out over email or text. I will offer the client my full set list to review and find out their music taste and vibe, picking and choosing the songs that match and learning new material if needed. Then I will craft a custom package tailored specifically to the client and run it by them. I usually like to check in one week before the event and then once again the day before the event. I will arrive on location early, to give myself time to set up and confirm the details with the client. I will give it my all during the performance to elevate the event to an unforgettable experience for the guests and check in with the client one last time before leaving. I am flexible and always open to changing the details of my package at any point, even adding extra time if the client requests it after I've finished performing.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Classical Piano Studies at Tbilisi State Conservatory Jazz Piano Performance at Metropolitan State University of Denver Vocal training with Ekaterine Chambers

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Years ago, I worked at a café and the owner used to be a professional musician. At the time, making a living playing music was a pipe dream for me but my boss told me it's a business like any other. He gave me my first gig and years later, now that I live my dream as a full-time musician, I still consult him for advice and mentorship.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Weddings, corporate parties, restaurants, upscale hotels (including Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Clio in Cherry Creek, and others), performing arts centers, birthday parties, private chef's supper clubs, ski resorts, retirement and elderly homes, skilled nursing facilities, singing telegrams, entertainment agents, college campuses, recording studios, festivals, government events, dance parties, and various other private events.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Recording my debut album was the most labor intensive creative project of my life so far. The process took a little over 4 years, included raising $6k through crowdfunding, and working with studios in Denver and Boston. The final product premiered at the Denver Performing Arts Complex, with a live theatrical performance featuring magical costumes that brought the music to life.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Is the event indoors or outdoors? Do you have any sound equipment on location or do you expect the performer to provide all equipment? How long is the event and what length of time should the entertainment be? If the entertainment is not needed for the full length of the event, would you like the performer to stay the entire duration of the event? Would you like the performer to take breaks or play straight through the duration of the event? Will anyone at the event need to use the microphone or any other piece of the performer's equipment? Would you like the performer to play music from Spotify in between live sets? Do you need the performer to have liability insurance? What is the dress code for the event?
