Introduction

DJ Judy has 25 years of experience as a DJ and can provide a complete wedding package including vows and amplified music for both the ceremony and reception. For me it's all about the bride and groom and providing a day that they can enjoy, not worry about! I customize everything about the wedding ceremony and reception to make it a life's event that will be forever remembered and cherished. DJ Judy also does private parties, such as birthdays, anniversaries, holiday, and so forth. I was the house DJ for the Veteran's Park teen dances for 15 years and DJ for all of the Lehigh Middle School dances. Additionally, I have emceed the annual Lehigh Spring Festival parade for over 8 years, as well as providing music for their car show. I look forward to hearing from you!

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Rather than listing a flat rate, I base my pricing upon what the bride and groom expects me to do. That way I am able to work with the couple to give them the best value.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When doing a wedding, I like to do a meet and greet with the prospective bride and/or groom to review their expectations. I have a wedding package that I ask them to complete which includes things like date and time of wedding, venue, contact information both for them and for the venue, members of their bridal party, special songs, genre of music for reception, and a "do not play" list if applicable. This gets them to thinking about all the important parts of the reception and gives them a roadmap to follow when deciding on music selections. For all other events, I make all of the arrangements via a telephone call. If the venue is one that I've not worked in before, I try to arrange a walk through to determine load in, setup, and parking. It's always a bonus if the party host wants to meet up with me at the venue.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been a practicing DJ for 25 years and have done events such as weddings and receptions, anniversary parties, bachelorette parties, birthdays, corporate events and theme parties to just name a few. Plus I have been emcee for local community festivals, parades, and school functions.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I originally was a DJ along with my late husband who was a professional entertainer. He did live music and I did the prerecorded music. He passed away in 2012 and I just continued on with the DJ work, mostly because I love what I do and feel I am good at it. A good majority of my clients are repeat customers or referrals.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Customers that I have worked with in the past include but are not limited to: Schools, churches, festivals, brides, reunion groups, and private individuals.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
My advice to someone looking to hire a DJ or an officiant is to NOT go with the lowest price, because you typically get what you pay for! And to get several quotes from providers. If possible, I suggest actually meeting with the individuals who would be performing the service so you can see how they present themselves and how you interact.
