Introduction

I’m a classically trained pianist with years of composing experience and music theory knowledge. Most people who learn the piano trade learn from Dad or granddad, I have spent over three years studying and getting two certificates in the craft of piano repair and rebuilding. I am a graduate of the Florida State University College of Music, and I have been running my piano repair and rebuilding business out of Bradenton, Florida (my hometown) since 2013, send me a message and I’ll get you the information and services you need!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Most technicians learned by doing, or from their uncle or dad. I have undergone rigorous training as a part of two certificate programs through the Chicago School for Piano Technology. I am also part of the Piano Technicians Guild which has a monthly journal on techniques new and old as well as yearly conventions with technical institutes to help hone skills throughout my career.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I took an intro class on piano technology and fell in love with how the piano was made and works, and how to repair it when it doesn’t! Haven’t looked back since!

What types of customers have you worked with?

Tuning pianos, cleaning out the insides of the piano (lots of dust and grime, and bugs), reconditioning of the inner workings (minor rebuilding jobs). Teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, violin, and music theory lessons.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I just finished up a nice restringing on a grand, I love taking an old dusty and rusty piano and bringing it back to it’s original luster and beauty! Whole restring, agraffe repolishing, hammer reshaping, and action regulation took two months.
