What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We include all of the pricing in the quotes and work with each client individually. There are no hidden fees and no middle man - you are working DIRECTLY with the owner

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to start with email, getting to know the needs and so forth, then speaking on the phone and ironing out details. Contracts are simple and straight forward, too. No catches

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Master's in Vocal Performance from Northwestern University - my undergrad work was in Vocal Performance, Violin Performance, starting at the Conservatory for the Arts at Wittenberg University, finishing at Northwestern - and a degree in Health Psychology from DePaul University. I have been coaching violin since age 12, dance since age 13, voice since 18, and have worked as a Producer, Choreographer, Coach with many organizations and schools, including coaching several Miss America's, American Idols, Tony winners, etc....

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have been playing music since age 4 and it is my passion - I will do this for the rest of my life - both performing and coaching :)

What types of customers have you worked with?

Every customer is a unique experience - from performing to coaching - that is what makes it so much fun

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I have been the head vocal judge and coach of Big Break Chicago for 17 years. Each year - start to finish - is 12 weeks - and I have had multiple winners come from my coaching background, as well. I am excited to see THIS year start off - beginning plans are in April, and the Grand Finale is Aug 22 - with MY Band being the LIVE BAND for all of the contestants on Week 9 - this is worth the effort!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure - if you are hiring a band - that you know if they are 100% LIVE or if they are using pre-recorded options - even if they are using it for backup - things can go wrong with that. LIVE is the best way -check out the LIVE VIDEOS - and really look to see if you can SEE what you are hearing! :) And for a coach - make sure you feel comfortable and that they understand your goals - not everyone needs the "24 Italian songs and arias" - some people sure....but NOT everyone ;)

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Think about a budget, personal needs, customization, and what you expect FROM the professional. Put that on the table and things will be so much easier :)
