Introduction

Southside Soul Kings is a group of pros that bring the joy of live music to your event. Outdoors or Indoors we bring our brand of energetic entertainment wherever we go. We can play a nice soft set and we can rock the house with Old School covers, we also play the Blues/R&B/MoTown and Funky Soul. I will be updating this site to include samples of music and more pictures soon. We are on Facebook and I'll also be updating that page so, you can see where we are playing out in your area. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our price varies, However, we usually charge $700. to$2,500. This is for a 6 member band and is negotiable. If we have to travel, the price increases. If me have to provide an entire sound system, the price increases. So, a basic fee is $500 for the 1st hour and $350 per hour after that.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I introduce myself and let potential customers know what Southside Soul Kings have to offer. We would then schedule a time and place or a phone call to discuss the details concerning their request.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

We are musicians with varying levels of experience and training. Mostly experience. We have been entertaining together for @5 years now, but all of us have been in various bands for many many years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

Being a musician isn't "work" We love entertaining. we all started a long time ago mostly in grade school. The music bug hit us back then, longer for some than others. We never got tired of performing.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Anyone interested in live music. Festivals, fairs, corporate events, private parties, VFW, American Legions, Lodges and night clubs.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We entertained at The Heights of the Era music festival in Davenport Iowa. We spent 3 days traveling and performing.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Please look at the fee, see if it fits your allotted budget. Professional musicians do not come cheap, but well worth the money.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What type of music you would like at your venue and make sure the band you are looking at specializes in that genre. For example: If you want a country band, don't contact a blues band, or a Jazz ensemble.
