What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our base rate is 120.00 per hour. Tips are appreciated!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We do some text messages back and forth to determine the exact time, the place to set up our equipment, when pay is expected ( at the time of set-up) and what type of songs the customer is requesting. All by text or phone call.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

3 hours of college education in music theory. 30 years as a semi-professional musician, playing in the Midwest and in Europe.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started playing piano at age 8. Bass guitar at 13. Guitar at 18, Harmonica at 18, Banjo at age 55 ( with pro lessons ) and organ at age 60.

What types of customers have you worked with?

Mostly folks above age 50. We specialize in Birthday parties and gatherings for other occasions. Retirement communities have been our main stream customers for the past 6 years. We also perform Gospel music for churches and private venues.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

We played for the St. Louis, Mo Veterans Home on Veterans Day. We played and sang " America the Beautiful" and the Star Spangled Banner for the Honor Guard. Then played an hour of our regular " Oldies" for the Veterans' lunch hour. We are being booked again by them for Christmas music in December 2022. Maybe we now have a new client!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

See if the band or group as a Facebook page with a recorded sample of their own music. We just published " Elvis Lives" on our Facebook page. See: The JukeBox Duo on Facebook! Check the group out if you can before you hire them. Don't just go on the reviews....

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Location, indoors or outdoors, electricity outlet access, neighbors if you are outside ( noise compliants) and please consider free food and drink for your entertainers! They are working hard to please you!!!
