What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I try to keep my fees reasonable but they may vary depending on distance and travel time to an event.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

The main question I usually ask is what type of music the customer is looking to hear for their event. If I feel that particular type of music fits my style, I will move forward with it. I also ask them if they want to hear any particular songs, and I'll try to learn as many as possible prior to the performance.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Berklee College of Music graduate and I have been performing as a solo act and with various bands for many years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

In the late 90s early 2000s I started performing solo at coffee houses.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with everyone from parents having a party for their kids graduation, or a wedding couple playing instrumental music for their ceremony or cocktail hour. I have performed at weddings, outdoor parties, private clubs and bars.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I spend a good amount of time prior to a gig learning songs. I enjoy the process because not only does it make the customer happy, it adds to my song repertoire.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Seek someone out that is best suited to your needs. Try to be specific as far as what style of music you would like to hear.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

What do you specialize in as far as your musical style would be a great question. Maybe ask for a sample set list or asked where they have performed in the past.
