Introduction

Welcome to my page! A bit about my studio- I have taught both violin and viola for over six years. My teaching is inspired by the famous pedagogue Karen Tuttle which leads to an emphasis on relaxed playing, total body integration, and breathing, as well as other aspects from Tuttle’s “Coordination Technique”. For beginning students, I draw from apects of Mimi Zweig's String Pedagogy (available to view online) and the Suzuki System. Parents are encouraged to learn along side their children, and are involved in the practicing and performing processes. While I teach primarily classical based training, I am always excited to branch out and invest time in other types of music that peaks the student’s interest, from pop songs to Irish fiddle tunes. I have a deep passion for music and hope to share this passion with any student I have the opportunity to teach. COVID-19 Update: Online Lessons are available. For in-person lessons, masks will be worn and I will provide hand sanitizer.
