Hello, Each week students come to see me and each week I help them understand and enjoy music. I like to have fun in lessons and I tailor the lesson to each students' abilities. I would love to help your niece start enjoying her new keyboard! Students move through their beginning books and gain a solid foundation. This helps them feel successful and want to continue. The first step towards getting started is to schedule an introductory lesson. At this meeting you'll see the studio and I can also answer any questions you have. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My prices are low for the experience that I have. But, I want to keep music affordable for families.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Our first time together is a no charge meet-n-greet. This gives the family a chance to find the studio and meet me. I am able to answer questions and we pick out the books that will be used. This also gives us a chance to talk about the schedule, tuition, policies, etc.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have had years of private lessons, and I had a private mentor when I started teaching. I also had music in college; but, I've learned more in my 30+ years of teaching than any college book ever taught me! I also continue to learn and grow and change as more technology is available.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

It developed out of a love of my own piano lessons and wanting to pass that along to others.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with children as young as 3 years old and adults who are retired and fulfilling their bucket list! I have also worked with special need students.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I am currently adding technology to my studio and I will be starting piano lab classes this fall. This has been in process for over a year to get the keyboard bought and music explored to find what I think will work well. I am also adding Ipad and apps for students to use during off bench time.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Please be patient with your student and the teacher. Progress is not always as fast as some parents expect it to be. Progress will be better if the parents are involved in the students practice at home.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

I don't think they need to think through questions because once they talk to the professional they'll only have more. Relax and be open to the wisdom a professional brings to the table.
