Reasonable rates at $80 per hour. We Love What We Do! At Magic Mirror Face Painting, we truly love what we do! We care about your event, whether it be a child's birthday party or a major church celebration. We want your guests to be talking about your event for months to come. Our goal is to make your event magical! FLORIDA October through April - Proudly serving: Palm Coast, St. Augustine, Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach, Bunnell and surrounding areas. Jobs outside the normal service area will have a one-time trip charge applied. IOWA May through September - Proudly serving: Arnolds Park, Okoboji, Milford, Estherville and surrounding areas. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

There is no pre-payment or deposit required. You only will owe me for the time I am there. I charge $80 per hour. I do not typically charge a trip charge. I accept cash, personal check, CashApp or Zelle. Tips are appreciated and accepted, but never expected.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I try to keep things simple for you. I am pretty self-sufficient. Typically, you are trying to plan a whole party and facepainting is just one element. All I need to book the job is name, address and contact information. At the party, I try to arrive 15 minutes early to set up. I have design books. We usually put out all design samples, whether it is all boys, all girls, or both. There are boys who ask for butterflies, and there are girls who ask for dragons! I can do custom designs for a particular themed event. Please discuss with me prior so I can be prepared. The children are free to come and go to enjoy other activities. We encourage them to do so…but many times they all want to watch their friends being painted which is great! I try to set up in an out of the way corner, as getting bumped and jostled is not conductive to face painting. It is nice if you can provide a table and chairs, and a shady spot for me but not required. I can bring a table and chairs if needed, and just need to know ahead of time. Access to a water faucet is nice, to rinse brushes, but I can bring my own water as well. I will discuss this arrangement when you book the party.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been doing face painting at birthday parties, carnivals, fairs, corporate events, sporting events and daycare centers for over a decade. No event is too big or small. So why should you hire me? What makes me different from other face painters? With a lifetime of creative experience and a career as a professional designer, I can assure you that I do quality work. How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started doing face painting about 15 years ago, when my kids were little. Now they are both in college! I am originally from Minnesota and had a thriving face painting business there. But I am new to Florida - so when you look at the number of times I have been hired on Thumbtack, it is a pretty low number. Don't worry - I am a pro! I have done HUNDREDS of jobs!

What types of customers have you worked with?

My favorite customers are kids - birthday parties, carnivals, daycare centers, church events, etc. I have also done adult events like Mardi Gras, sporting events and even some body painting for a dancer!

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I have loved doing the Palm Coast Farmers Market at the European Village! We are regulars there Sundays noon-4pm.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Find out about the experience of the specific artist that you will be assigned, especially if you choose to hire a large entertainment company or job shop. Many large companies have a "stable" of painters. Not Magic Mirror. If you book Magic Mirror Face Painting for your event, you will get ME...the owner of the company, the person with the most experience, and the most at stake when it comes to making you happy!

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

One question I get asked is "Do you paint just the children at parties, or do you also paint the adults?" We paint adults all the time at parties! Face painting appeals to all ages. Some clients have us paint everyone, some have us just paint the children. It just depends on what you prefer. The more people, the more time it will take. We always discuss this issue ahead of time with our clients.
