Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
We recently played for a beautiful wedding at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden in Fayetteville, NC. The groom booked us three months in advance, and we selected some lovely music for the ceremony. We played an assortment of classical pieces for the prelude, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring for the processional, Canon in D for the bride, Be Thou My Vision for the sand-pouring, and Ode to Joy for the recessional. We arrived an hour before the ceremony, played 30 minutes of prelude, and the ceremony lasted 30 minutes. It was a lovely day and the music was beautiful.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Start looking for a provider 3-6 months in advance. Make sure you have a covering or plan b location in case of inclement weather, since musicians and photographers can't set up equipment in the rain. Also, communication is key. Make sure you and your provider are clear on all the details before the event.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Customers should think about: Where the musicians need to set up and what they will do if it rains/looks like it will rain, what music they want for before, during, and after the ceremony/event, how long they want the musicians to play, the amount of time and distance the musicians will have to drive from their home, and how many musicians they want (soloist, duo, trio, quartet). If you have thought through these factors, your event will go much more smoothly and communication will be easier.
