Introduction

Hello! I'm West Bolz, a proud Charlotte native and lifelong musician. With a career spanning over 1000 gigs and a repertoire that rivals that number, I specialize in creating unforgettable acoustic performances. Whether you're looking for classic rock, modern hits, oldies, tropical, or anything in between, I can tailor my setlist to perfectly fit your event. I perform in the timeless solo style of just a guy and his guitar, with no backing tracks—allowing me to adapt and deliver a diverse range of music on the spot. If you’re interested in something unique, I often collaborate with exceptional musicians, including renowned Latin percussionist Oseiku Diaz, who has played with legends like Harry Belafonte and Bill Withers, and Maxie Washington, a talented New Orleans trumpet player who brings a vibrant touch to any performance. I thrive on playing for special events and love taking requests to deliver your favorite songs and artists. With a 5-star rating and a commitment to ensuring every client is delighted, I’m dedicated to making your event a memorable experience. Let's create the perfect soundtrack for your celebration! Covered artists include: 3 Doors Down Ace Adele Aerosmith Al Green Alabama The Alan Parsons Project Alan Jackson Alice in Chains America Amy Winehouse Antonio Carlos Jobim Arctic Monkeys Atlanta Rhythm Section Avett Brothers Bad Company Badfinger The Band The Beach Boys The Beastie Boys The Bee Gees The Beatles Ben E. Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
Pricing is based on the type of event, the number of musicians desired, sound and light system requirements.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Find out what music you like, where the event will be. Then I pretty much take care of everything else.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Always learning new (and old) songs to add to the repertoire.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I started piano at age 9, and guitar at 12. I got into rock and roll, and could not put my guitar down. Later on, I had the good fortune to get exposed to different types of world music which broadened my experience in music. When I started playing shows, I enjoyed the energy, and it is always rewarding when people enjoy what you present.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Half ot the events we do are acoustic shows at upscale restaurants, country clubs, and parties. Solo with vocals/guitar, or duos with another singer, guitar player, saxophone player, percussionist or drummer. The other half are band gigs: festivals, weddings, country club events, clubs/bars, bike nights, corporate events, dance parties, etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I played a couple benefits this year, and helped raise $32,000 for Make-A-Wish, $10,000 for Camp Thunderbird, and $12,000 for a cancer cause.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find out If they can play the styles you want. If you sense any kind of arrogance, you are better finding someone who has a relaxed attitude. Also, we prefer to post real live videos of performances we have done. The quality of the recordings are not the best, but I would rather that someone gets a feel for what we sound like. A lot of bands will post studio renditions of songs, but that often does not reflect what they really sound like live.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
We have put thousands of hours into learning songs, constantly expanding our repertoire. Lots of prep work for different events.
