Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer a variety of packages for weddings and competitive pricing for other events. Pricing begins at $350/hour with discounts for non-profits. Wedding clients typically spend between $1,000 - $1,800.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I work with my clients on a person-to-person level. I want to get to know them, what brings them joy, and their vision for their event. A discovery call lets us get to know each other and determine if it's the right fit. My goal is always to make sure that the music for an event is the most authentic representation of you as the host!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Though I prefer to perform as a harpist, my primary instrument is the piano, which I studied for 15 years and continue to play. I have been able to use my skills as a pianist in many ways as a harpist. I studied harp with a private teacher for 5 years, including two summers at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, where I majored in Harp and minored in Advanced Piano. Since stopping my lessons, I have continued to practice, learn new pieces, and master playing techniques.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
I would advise that a professional should be able to help guide you through the process. If you have no idea what music you would like, that's ok! The musician will be able to give you suggestions on pieces that might be a good fit for different parts of the ceremony.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What kind of atmosphere or experience do you wish to create? Consider the mood, style, and genres of music that would best fit your vision. If comparing live versus recorded music, consider special requests that may only be executed by a live musician, such as "the bride will enter at this part in the song" or "I like this song, but played in a different style." Research a musician's online presence and read reviews from their past clients to ensure that they are reliable and professional.
