Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I do not have a standard pricing system. I base my pricing on travel, equipment that needs to be provided, and the length of the gig. I also base my pricing on the number of musicians requested as I work as a soloist, a duo, trio or in a small band format, and as a Dueling Pianos show.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
The first step in my process with a new client is to establish what it is that they are looking for in their entertainment. Background music, or out front entertaining and involving an audience with up tempo sing-a-long music, or just providing music to dance to etc.. From there we would work on types of music the client would like performed, hours and location of the performance venue, and what type of attire the client would prefer.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I've been a pianist/singer for 40 years. I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston for two years, and then transferred and got my Bachelors Degree in Music from The Hartt School of Music at the University of Hartford. I have performed all over the country playing with bands and trios, performing dueling pianos, and performing as a soloist. I have been performing full time in Las Vegas since 2004 at NYNY, Paris, Harrahs, the Encore, and Mirage casinos to name just a few, as well as performing for weddings, private parties and corporate events.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've been in music my whole life. I started at 5 years old with piano lessons, and as time has gone on I have always excelled with my musical career and I am very thankful to have the career I have built.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I work in town for corporate events and private parties in different venues and at people's homes. I've also worked for some different cruise lines, and worked at most of the casinos on the Vegas strip.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Last year in February I was asked back to perform on the Ohio State Buckeye Cruise for Cancer Research on Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. It was the 6th year I performed on the cruise. They buy out the whole cruise ship and it is a great charity event for a great cause and I've had such an overwhelmingly positive experience in the six years I have been asked to perform. I'm looking forward to hopefully performing on the cruise again next February, once the cruise ship industry opens back up.
