Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My pricing is based on the type of event, duration of the performance, and location. I offer competitive rates for both short and extended performances, and I’m happy to provide custom quotes depending on your needs. I also offer discounts for repeat customers or multiple bookings. Travel fees may apply for events outside the local area. I aim to ensure transparency and work within your budget to create the best possible experience.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
When working with a new customer, I first discuss the event details—such as the type of event, venue, and any specific musical preferences. After understanding your vision, I’ll provide a tailored performance plan and pricing. Once we finalize the details, I will confirm the date, and any song requests can be discussed. I’m always available to answer questions or adjust details as the event approaches. On the day of the performance, I’ll ensure everything is set up and ready to create a seamless experience.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I attended the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, where I received formal classical training. Additionally, I’ve performed in various orchestras and chamber ensembles, which has helped me refine my skills and broaden my repertoire. Over the years, I’ve also explored a variety of genres, including jazz, pop, rock, and show tunes, allowing me to bring a diverse range of music to any event. On the unusual side, I also played in a progressive rock band for 8 years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I was raised to be a professional classical musician in the former USSR. I continued my studies at the Manhattan School of Music after we immigrated to the US. Subsequently, I played in a prog rock band and in a number of symphony and chamber orchestras. I have also played various events such as weddings, birthdays, corporate events and private functions.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I’ve had the pleasure of working with a wide range of customers, including couples looking to create a romantic atmosphere for their wedding, corporate clients seeking a sophisticated touch for events, and private individuals hosting celebrations. My clients value professionalism and versatility, and I pride myself on being able to tailor my music to suit each unique occasion.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Make sure to hire a performer who not only has the technical skills but also a passion for making your event special. Check for experience in a variety of settings—whether it’s weddings, corporate events, or intimate gatherings. Ask about their ability to adapt to your musical preferences and any specific requests. And most importantly, ensure they can create the atmosphere you envision for your event.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Before reaching out to a professional, it’s helpful to consider the following questions: What is the overall vibe or atmosphere I want to create? Do I have specific song requests or a particular style of music in mind? What is the duration of the performance, and do I need multiple sets? Is the event indoors or outdoors, and what are the space and acoustics like? What is my budget for live music? Will the professional need to bring extra equipment like speakers, microphones, amps, etc?
