Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My minimum rate starts at $500. Typically I can perform solo for up to 3 hours(local travel) for that price. Rates & hours may vary based on location and accommodations (travel distance, hotel, extra equipment needed etc.) Because every project is different, I'm happy to provide custom price for your event

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Typically the customer will contact me to start the conversation. We'll then have a quick chat to go over specifics. From there, I will issue a contract and accept a 50% deposit to hold the date. Any questions and follow up calls are welcomed once the date is confirmed. The remaining balance is due a week before the event.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been performing professionally for over a decade, and I play hundreds of shows every year.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I've been playing music in church my whole life. I've performed at open mic nights and various locations around town, and my following has grown steadily. I always enjoy playing out, but my main priority lately has been working with clients who want amazing music at their special event.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Typical clients I work with - Corporate event planners that need music entertainment for their specific events and parties. - Private party clients. These are typically celebrations like graduations, engagement parties or proposals , milestone birthday parties or just an excuse to get together with friends. Usually, I will perform in the client's home. Sometimes the client will rent a venue for the party. I am flexible and happy to work with the client to come up with a plan that works best for them. - Wedding Couples. From rehearsal dinner to reception and everything in between I help ensure the happy couple and their guests can enjoy a night of fun and festivities.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I played for a nearby county Republican Party event. It felt like a cross between a graduation party and 4th of July party. Everyone felt like friends & family.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Since I perform private events on a frequent basis, I can offer my advice on anything from flow of events, length of performance and song selection. My advice would be to: -Check the performers reviews/rating. - Make sure sound system and equipment is part of your quote, some performers also charge for use of their gear. - Check the performers bio. See if they are a musician that can perform what you're looking for. For example.. reaching out to a blues musician when you want Disney songs may not get you the best results.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Helpful information to consider.. Know your budget. Confirm the venue where the event will take place. Any special song requests. Is the performer open to learning new songs? Sometimes there's too many details to discuss, but understanding the basics of your event and what you're looking for can help speed up the booking process.
