In 2022, I secured a spot in the “Top 3”, going head-to-head against 9 full bands for “Best Cover Artist” in the Pittsburgh City Paper’s Best Of 2022 Readers Poll. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Events start at $800. Wedding ceremonies are $600. $400/hour is my base rate for a non-wedding event. Travel and gratuity are typically added to events that are not local. 50% deposit to secure an event date.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to get a feel for what kind of atmosphere the client wants. There are plenty of talented acts out there that are perfect for you. I might just be one of them!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a self-taught, singer/guitarist. I have managed to accumulate a few accolades along the way that make me proud and I am humbled by the recognition. 2022: 3rd Place - Best Cover Artist in the Pgh City Paper’s Best Of 2022 Readers Poll. I was the only solo act to make it to the top 10 voting round with 9 other bands. 2019: 2nd place at the BSWPA’s Blues Challenge in Pittsburgh. 2018: 1st Place at the Pittsburgh Acoustic Challenge 2014 & 2011: Quarter finalist at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. 2013 & 2010: 1st Place at the BSWPA’s Blues Challenge in Pittsburgh.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I come from an artistically, musically inclined family. Being the youngest of nine, it was natural for me to follow in my older siblings footsteps. I am happy to have made music my full time profession!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I’ve worked with companies and people from all walks of life. From multimillion dollar corporations, local newscasters, wineries and breweries to friends and acquaintances I’ve met at my music events. I’ve played business functions, weddings, intimate receptions and backyard parties.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

I am most fond of wedding ceremonies that I have performed. Nothing is more rewarding than a couple entrusting me with the music for their special day.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Be sure the person you hire is a good fit for your specific music needs.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

Find an artist who can deliver exactly what you want to hear. I construct your set lists based on your musical likes and dislikes. Have a location in mind that has enough usable space for a performance area. If the event is outdoors, have suitable coverage or an alternate indoor space for inclement weather.
