Introduction

Versatile, flexible, engaging, and easy to work with to create memorable events! If you are planning a private party or corporate event: imagine having the perfect song being played at the perfect volume for all the different portions of your event. If you’re planning a wedding: imagine what it’ll be like when you get to hear and dance to lots of your favorite songs, and everyone else, young and old, has a great time as well! In The Way Band, we pride ourselves on being very versatile & we love to access our extensive repertoire and decades of experience in knowing what to play when, and at what volume. This lets you rest easy that the right mood will be set for each part of your event. Whether your event requires strictly background music or in-your-face dance music, or any shades within those extremes, we are there for you. Our commitment to being very accommodating means you’ll find the entire process of working with us seamless and enjoyable both before and during the event. Because we are flexible, it means you can customize the details: the instrumentation, the playlist, and even tricky set-ups such as different portions of the event being in different rooms or locations, or unusual outdoor locations. The Way Band fosters a personal and family-oriented atmosphere, treating you like part of our own family and ensuring that our wide range of age-appropriate songs keeps everyone involved and happy. Our personalized, interactive, and family-oriented approach to live music gives you confidence that we can and will play something for everyone in your group, even despite very wide age ranges. It can give you confidence that a group of people who don’t know each other well (such as a bride & groom’s families who live in different parts of the country) will come together easily through the enjoyment of the all-inclusive nature and wide variety of the music. We specialize in smaller events of 50 guests or less with our core trio, so if you have a only small party and want a band that will be fun but not overwhelming, The Way is a perfect choice. Having said that, we have also played many events of 200 or more guests and our band’s instrumentation is flexible enough that we sometimes add keyboards, saxophone, trumpet, or all 3 depending on the budget and what is most musical appropriate. What sets us apart from other wedding bands is our love of spontaneity. Unlike cookie-cutter bands, we don't plan our set lists in advance, except for specific requests made in advance. Not only do we curate the perfect songs for each moment of your event, we love interacting with the guests by taking requests, inviting musicians or singers to join us on stage, and even doing group karaoke with our wireless mic! We love to help people celebrate their special occasions and make them memorable for a lifetime! And we do it every single time. That, to us, is "The Way."

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The pricing is determined by how many musicians, how many hours entertainment is required, travel distance, and other factors such as day of the week and time of day.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
This can vary based on customer preference. However, after an initial quote is sent, there is usually a follow-up call to negotiate and/or clarify details. After that, either a contract or just a confirmation email confirms all the particulars regarding the event.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have been peforming professionally since I was 16 years old and I have been teaching for over 15 years.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I love making people's events sparkle with excitement and/or elegance, and give them something to remember. Please see my articles "What to Look for in a Band" and "Why I Love Playing Weddings" both found on my website.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I have played for Andrew Cuomo, David Dinkins, Rudolph Giulliani, etc. but mostly I work with everyday folks like myself :)

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
My 9th album "Sketches" is being released in January 2023. It took ages to make but I'm very excited about it.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
This is a great question. When you book a band for your event, or book a teacher for guitar lessons, you want to work with someone who: a) can deliver MASSIVE value from the length and breadth of their musical experience b) is easy to work with in terms of communication, follow-up, special requests, etc. c) has reasonable rates d) really cares about what you are looking for and is willing to adapt to suit your event. Some bands and/ or teachers always do things the same way regardless of the event and/or student. You want someone who can easily tailor his services based on your overall vision and/or long-term student goals.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What role should the music play in your event (i.e. background only or in-your-face dancing, or anything in between.) Any special requests?
