Introduction

Scott is a solo instrumental pianist beyond the limits of workaday musicianship. From simple, clear melodies to complex, rolling waves of textured harmonies, Scott's music will make your event a cut above the rest. From music of the '60s to the most present-day, ranging from ballads to upbeat and lively, he will set a mood that makes your occasion memorable and special. Scott began playing professionally in 1978. His professional experience and background include live performance and studio work. He has recorded dozens of CD's and projects for major and indie labels, CMTV videos, ABC Sports, Warner Bros Discos (Latino), TV commercials, jingles, and performed for large venues, small piano bars and coffee shops. He has a background in Pop, R&B, New Age, Country, Rock, Jazz, Ambient, Worship, Gospel, Soul, Funk, Blues, Boogie, and even a little Broadway. Scott plays for a church, and also plays for all other religions, cultures and lifestyles. He also speaks Spanish (albeit slowly!). Dallas/Ft. Worth is very diverse! Let Scott help you make your party, wedding, cocktail hour, reception, convention, corporate event, funeral, memorial or celebration a success by bringing something beyond the ordinary. You'll find him very easy to work with, and his outgoing personality will make your guests feel welcome and at home. He will help you be the perfect event planner and host! NEW!!! See photos for Grand Piano Shells, in both Black, and White, for both indoor and outdoors events. This makes having a Grand Piano at your event easy, quick, lightweight, and affordable--$300 instead of the standard $1500!!! Also, a White Wedding Piano for $100! Also, Wireless Mics, Sound System and Battery are available for $25-50 each.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I am $180 the first hour, $120 an hour after that, $1 per mile round trip from Frisco/McKinney to where your event is, plus the Thumbtack fees they charge me upfront for your lead, which are about $10 per hour of the gig you requested (if you put 1 hour it's about $10, 2 hours it's about $20, 3 hours it's about $30 etc). I also add $50 for wedding ceremonies to allow time for planning your song requests and other details. My White or Black Digital Piano on an X Stand is free, my White Wedding Piano is $75, and my White or Black Grand Piano Shell is $300 (see photos in my Photos section). I have wireless mics, sound system and a battery for $25 if you need them.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
I arrive early, stay flexible, warm, friendly and easy to work with, and bring something special to every occasion.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I began playing professionally in 1978. My professional experience and background include live performance and studio work. I have recorded dozens of albums and projects for major and indie labels, CMTV videos, ABC Sports, Warner Bros Discos (Latino), TV commercials, jingles, and performed for large venues, small piano bars and coffee shops. I play Pop, R&B, New Age, Country, Rock, Jazz, Ambient, Worship, Gospel, Soul, Funk, Blues, Boogie, and even a little Broadway.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
I began professionally when I was 18. I am now also beginning a global presence on YouTube and download and streaming sites, being an empty-nester is awesome!

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
All, Dallas/Fort Worth is very diverse:) And my recording work as a session player let me work with a lot of great artists!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Find a well-respected and reviewed pianist, there are a lot of vendors with middle-school student abilities trying to pose as professionals--they may be just what you are looking for if you want nice, simple piano, and that is great. But maybe you will want a pianist who is a few notches up. Also, I am very careful to only take work that I am well-suited for. If I know other excellent professionals who might be more what you are looking for, I will recommend them to you. I want you to find the best pianist to fit your bill.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
Sometimes naming songs and artists you like will give me a better idea of what you want. What one client thinks is jazz, or classical, or classic, or whatever, is different than what other clients or I myself think those genres might mean. There is not necessarily a right or wrong answer, it is just that clarity leads to providing you with exactly what you are looking for.
