Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
I offer custom quotes to fit the precise requests of your event (sound system, wireless mic for speaking and lights can be included in my rate)

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Tell me the details of your event, I'll send you a custom quote with options. You choose the option you like best. I send over a contract with a retainer, we both sign and that's it! The event is yours.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
I have a Professional Music degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I studied performance with James Taylor's brother, Livingston, sat in private masterclasses with John Mayer and had John Mayer's guitar teacher as my own private instructor. Since then I've performed over 1,500 live shows across the country from intimate candlelit dinners to beach weddings to backyard parties to huge stages and crowds of thousands.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
My father played music before I was born. When I was a little kid, he would play his guitar while my brother and I jumped on the bed and danced to his songs. When I was in high school I picked up the guitar and the nostalgia of those moments got me hooked. I went to Berklee College of Music and have been playing full time ever since.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
I've worked with: event planners corporations bride-to-be's/husband-to-be's retired folks veterans realtors stay-at-home mothers families friends who want a backyard party people who want to surprise a spouse anyone and everyone in between My past performances include: Coca Cola, Chick-Fil-A, Wingstop, The La Rams, Wells Fargo, Levis, M&T Bank Stadium, Northwest Stadium, Horseshoe Casino, Waldorf Astoria, Four Seasons, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, The Beverly Hilton and The SLS Hotel. I've performed for Fabio, Dylan Mcdermott and all across the U.S. from Key West to Boston, MA to Texas to LA and many places in between.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Most performances are 3 hours or less. It's possible to extend this if your event requires it. I'll be happy to create a quote to fit whatever the specs of your event is! I have played events less than 1 hour and events as long as 6. I can accommodate almost any timeline, just let me know what you want.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look for a person with good reviews, who has a few years of experience and has videos and audio you can listen to. A phone call usually helps you find out if the vendor is the right fit, so I always recommend that. You really want to know with great accuracy what you are getting before you hire them so you get your money's worth. However, the MOST important thing is - "are they the right vibe". There are many good and even great performers, but it's more important to get someone who is right fit for your specific event, rather than just looking for someone who is really good. You can usually get this by "vibe" you get from going to their website and then confirm this with a conversation with the performer.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
"Is sound included?" (some performers don't include this, so make sure to ask, you don't want a performer showing up with no sound system. A sound system is always included in my quote so you don't have to worry) "Can you learn a song for us?" (Not all musicians learn specific song requests for clients. I offer this service to all my clients so if it's something you'd like, just ask! And if I'm not able to learn the song, I'm always able to put together a custom break music playlist for you with that song on it!) "Does this event require performance insurance?" (If the venue requires performers insurance make sure to mention this so that your performer can purchase coverage for the event. I can include a performance insurance plan that covers up to $1,000,000 in liability for the duration of the event) "Can you create a playlist of songs I like to play during your breaks?" (Almost every musician will need to take breaks and it's good to have a playlist to fill in those times with more music so your event doesn't miss a beat! This is an option I offer to my clients)
