Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
The pricing structure for each job is determined primarily on the results of the initial inspection. The results are based on the infestation level, the customized treatment plan and the time it will take to perform the work properly.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Anyone can quote a price over the phone. But our company is about relationship building and performing every job as it were our own home. The inspection is generally the first step. After we provide the customer with a thorough inspection, a plan of action is discussed. The communication process between the customer and Mike's, is extremely important. We must become partners in combating the problem and agree to the common goal of controlling the situation. Once we have educated the customer and have agreed to be partners, the pricing and payment options are discussed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
We provide monthly training to our employees through the National Pest Management Association, Maryland Pest Management Association and our vendors. This allows us to be in compliance with the Maryland Department of Agriculture and keeps us update to date on the latest products available.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Mike's brother started in the business with a large company in 1991 and in 2000, Mikr followed his brother's footsteps. His love for people has kept him going in the industry for over 20 years.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Residential, commercial, property managers, real estate agents, etc.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
Our recent projects have varied from preventative and curative termite control, pest control, squirrel trapping, encapsulation and attic remediations. Time varies depending on the work to be done. A general idea for the 1st service on a general pest control could be an hour to an hour and a half.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Look at the company's website and review it for additional information. Go to the Department of Agriculture website to verify the company is licensed and the license is in good standing. Make sure to ask for identification cards, licenses, and insurance certificate.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
How long have you been doing this trade? What training have you had? Is there ongoing training? Do you have to be licensed? Do you have general liability insurance?
