Introduction

We are full time professional inspectors, with degrees in mechanical and structural engineering. We have performed approximately 20,000 inspections. We have provided strong, reliable, and competent inspection services for 30 years. I love my job because of the strong interaction it allows with Alltech's clients. I love that I am able to help people find a home that they can feel confident purchasing.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
We offer competitive pricing. If you visit our web site, there is often a savings promotion

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
We receive an email or phone call from a potential customer and make our initial connections. We explain to the client our services to ensure we can meet their inspection needs and expectations. From there, we determine the date and time they are available, insure it is within the frame of their contracts, and then set the appointment. We will then contact all necessary persons to gain access to the property according to rules in place by the local real estate boards and best professional practices. We will meet the client at the appointed place and time, conduct the inspection(s) (we like our client to be present as this is a learning experience). After the inspection, we review the highlights with the client. We then return to the offices, review all the write ups, photographs (usually over 100) and client concerns. From there we write the final report and disperse to the people specified by the client. Our client have free follow up consultations and often call us years later just to ask our opinions regarding updates they are considering.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Graduate Penn State University, BS Engineering, BA Physics, BA Mathematics Member ASHI-American Society of Home Inspections Member NACHI-National Association of Certified Home Inspectors Member INTERNACHI-International Association of Certified Home Inspectors Member ASME-American Society of Mechanical Engineers

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
After leaving the Steel Industry where I worked as an Area Engineer for J & L, I went to MSA where I was the Plant Engineer. I had family in real estate and was made aware of the opening of a potential new career path where I could work independently, yet still apply my engineering talents. I researched the fledgling profession and really felt I would make a solid fit. I then proceeded to take additional courses and certifications to ensure I was proficient in all aspects of home construction and mechanics. That was in 1987. Since then I have been working in this field and I love the interaction with my clients and the work that I perform.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Full home inspections, radon inspections, pest inspections, mold inspections and structural inspections. Approxiately 70% of our inspections would fall into a residential category and the remaining 30% would fall under either investment, commercial, or industrial inspections.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Check reference. Look at the report offered by the inspection company. Check and VERIFY insurance. There is a lot of fraud in this industry. We have witnessed it over the last 25 years. Check on professional affilications and licensing, where required. Both ASHI and NACHI have web site verification of membership status.
