Hey! I'm Nick. For over 10 years now, I've been a leading test prep guru, AP tutor, and writing coach based in sunny Southern California. As the author of original The College Lad curriculum and the tutor of choice for students who are committed to hitting 1500+ on SAT or 34+ on ACT, I've tutored on-set with some of America's brightest young on-screen talent and presented on application essays and test strategy to parents and students all over the Los Angeles area. I also work with a high volume of students on AP exam prep or academic tutoring in history (most commonly Euro or US), other social studies (think AP Human Geography or AP Gov), and math (up through calculus, including stats). New availability! I am a private tutor who is qualified in Mathematics/Physics for High School courses and/or Exam Prep. This includes, but is not limited to: NYS Regents Exams, SAT/ACT, AP Exams, FE (Fundamentals in Engineering). Both in-person and virtual services are available. Virtual sessions are done using Google Meets Screen Share tool and a virtual whiteboard so students can see how problems are done in step-by-step instruction. Students are sent pdf copies of the work done. However, students are fully expected to take their own notes as it is the only way to learn physics/math. I currently work as a Physics teacher at Chaminade High School. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Aerospace from the University of Delaware (Class of 2018). I currently live in Bay Shore but am open to working anywhere in Nassau/Suffolk County or completely virtual. Unlike other tutors you find, my objective is not only to teach the student the required subject material - but also to teach them the study methods and planning skills required to learn anything. Something that they can use moving forward for years to come. They will be provided with countless practice exams, recorded lectures, and goal-oriented study plans using specific metrics to track progress. The student will have all the necessary tools and support to improve their performance while developing the confidence/ambition to achieve academic success.
